Windows 2003 Server OS Help

Hello,
This may seem like a silly question but, could I use 2003 server OS on a Poweredge System as a stand alone desktop computer with the the server os that it has on it, I have always wanted to get some work time with this os, I am considering buy a used poweredge system with Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 OS.
thanks in advance

Do not see why not.  My son runs server 2003 on his desktop PC, has for 2 years.

It's silly to run a server OS for doing desktop day-to-day stuff factoring the costs involed. Windows XP Pro sells for about $160 now, Windows Server 2003 SE about $1000. If you have a licensed copy you aren't using I don't see a problem with installating it as a workstation.

He buys the Microsoft Action Pack, and the 2003 server is 2-3 times as fast as the bloated XP Pro, granted not all applications work on server.

And if you are a serious gamer Windows 2000 SP3 is the bomb for that. Only for offline gaming I might add.
