What is Recycle Bin?

In PowerStoreOS 3.5, we introduced the Recycle Bin.
PowerStore Manager includes a Recycle Bin allows you to recover intentionally or accidentally deleted volumes.
NOTE: The Recycle Bin works only for block storage (volumes, volume groups, and clones). It does not support file-based volumes and vVols
The default retention period for deleted objects is 7 days. You can adjust the retention period manually.

When users delete a block storage resource, they can elect to skip the Recycle Bin by selecting the checkbox, causing immediate deletion. By default the checkbox is not selected, this option places the block storage resource into the Recycle Bin.

The Recycle Bin can be accessed in the PowerStore Manager under the Storage tab.

Users can choose to recover or expire selected volumes. "Expire Now" option triggers expiration to permanently delete the resource.
