122T Warning - Library security has been compromised

Question

On our new (to us) PowerVault 122T (lto-2 drives), I get the following error when I load tapes in the unit and run Inventory. We are using Veritas Backup Exec V 10.d I am running the inventory through Veritas, not the Inventory available on the tape display.   ----- TapeAlert Events ----- The device has reported the following TapeAlert diagnostic information. Please contact your device manufacturer for more information regarding TapeAlerts. Warning - Library security has been compromised. Robotic Library for Device: DELL 4   The error only occurs on the first tape (regardless of slot) in the unit and only occurs the first time Inventory is run after loading tapes into the unit. If I re-run Inventory it runs without errors.   Any help on what it is trying to tell me and any solutions would be appreciated.

Try unlocking the device in Backupexec before opening the door. Go to the Devices window, right click on the Library, and 'unlock'. Cheers   Col.

I have/Had the same issue. We have a Dell Power Vault 132 and sure enough the library display had the warning about the door being opened. I closed the door, cleared the warning and ran the inventory, all was well.   Mike
