Your hyperterminal connection and your 650F are working fine. There is a "secret code" required to go any further on the hyper term connection, because there are options there that can easily turn your system into an expensive paperweight. The error logs you would see in hyper term are the same as you will see looking at them via Data Administrator (or Supervisor). Nothing different.
By the way - that string of alphabet is the storage processor running self diagnostics. If you ever have a system that won't boot up, you will probably see the string stop short of what you have here. And processor panics on startup are also visible under the display you can see without codes, and the panic descriptions are somewhere in the Dell documentation (an appendix, I think to Data Detective, or Data Admin.)
PS - I learned the secret code while working at another company under non-disclosure, so please don't ask.
Thank you for your reply. I hope you heard a sigh of relief I took after reading your post
Well, ok, so I wont ask you for the secret code
But, to tell you the truth, I told have any software to manage the LUNs etc etc. I have even tried Navisphere from EMC n SAN configurtion tool from Dell n Array Manager from Dell n failed.
Can anyone lend me the data administrator/supervisor/detective software?
P.S I'm using an EmulexLP8000 copper HBA to connect to the box. Someone mentioned it that 650 wont support this card. Do I really HAVE to buy the expensive QLA2200? Please advice.
In order to manage the 650f, you need to configure the Data Agent or Navisphere Agent with a serial or fibre channel connection. Dell only supports the Data Agent option. Navisphere agent is EMC supported, but they won't support a PV 650f from Dell.
Once you have configured the Data Agent, you can run omcli getagent to find out if you are managaing the 650f. Once you are, you can use Data Supervisor / Administrator / EMC Navisphere to configure luns.
No idea about it. Will read about it and try. If I get stuck, I'll come-a-runnin asking for more help. If you give me a hint about how to get on about it, It'll save me a lot of time (and headache) though.
I'm sorry I looked hither n thhither n could not find the navisphere agent's auto configure thingy. Nor could I find any documentation on it. Can you please help?
no luck. I'm suspecting cable problems. The system responds very very slowly when I connect the SPA to the Emulex 8000 card. But I DO see the PV drive when I connect the cable. The cable is a self made 4 wire db9 cable.

Just remembered,
I also installed the Dell Openmanage PV650F Discovery agent as well. Would this work?
Thanks

Hi There,
Did you ever get this resolved? I have a completely identical situation and would like to discuss.
