Adding additional drives to existing NAS
I am new to any form of NAS unit so this is stupid ,but i have installed a NX3200 and its all working and good with a NFS share to my vm environment . I am running our of space with the 4 HDDs that were in it from factory . I am adding 8 more drives to fill up the unit. Can i add them in hot ? Power off? will they show up as additional space or will i have to reconfigure the raid ? will i lose the data that's there? etc. Just want to know the process before I go kill my NAS

Neil,
You can add the hard drives in hot with no issues. You will need to reconfigure the Raid array after you add in the new hard drives. Once that is done you will need to extend the partition in your OS so that it will see the new space. I would recommend getting a backup before going through this process and I would do it in a maintenance window and not during the production environment. If you have any more questions please let me know and I would be happy to assist you.
