Anyone know what an "AG" drive is?
I've noticed something new on Dell configurators that I haven't seen before. So far, Google hasn't been my friend. There appears to possibly be a new variation of SSDs with the designation of "AG Drive". Here is an example of what I'm seeing:

Does anyone know what the difference is between AG drives and other drives? Maybe it's something internal to Dell or there's a technology that I'm not familiar with. I would greatly appreciate any thoughts.
Some thoughts of mine are Ag is silver on the periodic table. Panasonic part number sometimes start with AG. AG drives seem to cost less than other SSDs.

Hi,
Please do not post the same question in multiple locations. AG stands for agnostic, it is drives with certain specs but that may come from multiple manufactures rather than a specific branded drive.

So then just get the non AG drives - they offer both options for a reason. If your are more cost sensitive and less biased on brand, then go with the AG drives. They offer the AG drives at a lower cost since they can source based on negotiated best pricing for those drives at that given time. Should they just not offer the AG drives because you don't like them? I do prefer to know what brand/have my own biased, but I use both AG and known depending in the need of the server or the customer. Like with everything, it just depends. I'd rather have both options than only one.
