Archive Python 04106 Problems with Poweredge 1300

Hi all,

I am having troubles getting our server to properly back up to the hard drive. If I run the backup program manually, I get a message saying that the tape device is not communicating, check the cable connections and to make sure there is power. However, after a restart the problem goes away and I can read/write to the tape. Our system us set to back up nightly at midnight. After a backup I willI find the tape ejected from the drive in the morning. I try to read off the tape to make sure the backup worked, but I get the same error message again. Aside from rebooting the server every morning, what can I do to fix this? It is runnning Win NT 4.0, I have reinstalled the drivers and run the firmware upgrade for the tape drive as mentioned in other similiar posts. Nothing seems to have worked yet. Can anyone help?
