Arcserve error 3208

I am running Arcserve 9 on a Netware 6 server with Powervault 110 drive.  I just recently started getting E3208 cannot write errors when doing restore to an NSS volume.  This setup was working fine for several months.  Most references to this error point to restoring compressed files to a NSS volume but the volume I have been backing up has always been uncompressed.  Even if I foce uncompression on backup I still get these errors.   Any ideas?
