Can't connect to MD3200i from Centos7
I have a MD3200i that is being repurposed from one server to another, a PowerEdge 410. The old server was running RHEL5 and the setup was straightforward and worked well for years. Setting up the new server is not so straightforward. I've tried the DELL_MDSS_Consolidated_RDVD_6_5_0_1.iso on the new server, a CentOS 7 box, and it's been nothing but weird. When the server reboots after the installation, the server can ping the array's iSCSI port (I only have a single path setup on this, and am trying to manage it on the in-band connection), but it cannot either manage or mount the array. When it gets weird is when I run a Windows 2012 R2 VM via KVM with bridged networking on the server, and put the MDSS software on the VM, I have complete control of the array, and can mount it in the VM. This means the hardware is working, but the configuration is not.
I backed out the mapping and the host definitions, and remade them to point to the PE410 server, and this is what I get:
[root@mccave ~]# iscsiadm --mode discovery --type sendtargets --portal 192.168.130.101:3260 iscsiadm: Cannot match 52:54:00:E0:32:FE to net/scsi interface. iscsiadm: cannot make connection to 192.168.130.101: Success iscsiadm: Cannot match 52:54:00:E0:32:FE to net/scsi interface. iscsiadm: cannot make connection to 192.168.130.101: Success iscsiadm: Cannot match 52:54:00:E0:32:FE to net/scsi interface. iscsiadm: cannot make connection to 192.168.130.101: Success iscsiadm: Cannot match 52:54:00:E0:32:FE to net/scsi interface. iscsiadm: cannot make connection to 192.168.130.101: Success iscsiadm: Cannot match 52:54:00:E0:32:FE to net/scsi interface. iscsiadm: cannot make connection to 192.168.130.101: Success iscsiadm: Cannot match 52:54:00:E0:32:FE to net/scsi interface. iscsiadm: cannot make connection to 192.168.130.101: Success iscsiadm: connection login retries (reopen_max) 5 exceeded iscsiadm: Cannot match 52:54:00:DB:97:70 to net/scsi interface. iscsiadm: cannot make connection to 192.168.130.101: Success iscsiadm: Cannot match 52:54:00:DB:97:70 to net/scsi interface. iscsiadm: cannot make connection to 192.168.130.101: Success iscsiadm: Cannot match 52:54:00:DB:97:70 to net/scsi interface. iscsiadm: cannot make connection to 192.168.130.101: Success iscsiadm: Cannot match 52:54:00:DB:97:70 to net/scsi interface. iscsiadm: cannot make connection to 192.168.130.101: Success iscsiadm: Cannot match 52:54:00:DB:97:70 to net/scsi interface. iscsiadm: cannot make connection to 192.168.130.101: Success iscsiadm: Cannot match 52:54:00:DB:97:70 to net/scsi interface. iscsiadm: cannot make connection to 192.168.130.101: Success iscsiadm: connection login retries (reopen_max) 5 exceeded iscsiadm: connect to 192.168.130.101 timed out iscsiadm: connect to 192.168.130.101 timed out

So it looks like it is logging in and trying to make a session, but it isn't attaching right, because it never shows up as a drive in either the logs or in fdisk. I've been trying a million things, but at this point I'm just confused, and am hoping someone here has a clue they can loan me on how to troubleshoot this further.

A random inspiration for turning off the firewall solved the issue where I could not connect with the MDSM, and it is working now.

Hello Jackie_M
With an MD3200i it is supported to use with RHEL 7.3. However, centos is not supported on an MD3200i. Here is a link to our support matrix & the supported operating systems are on page 32-35. https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/powervault-md3200_support-matrix_en-us.pdf
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Do you know CentOS is the basically the same thing as RedHat? In this machine, it started life as a RHEL 7 box until I could not convince management to purchase RedHat (they wanted me to go with Ubuntu, but I wanted to stick with a supported OS, so I compromised with CentOS). I followed easily available instructions to switch from RedHat to CentOS without reinstalling, so just by changing the repository, I'm running CentOS. To say the answer is to install RedHat is showing a lack of understanding of what CentOS is. Even the installer on the DVD image thinks it is RedHat.
