Dell MD3400 Firmware upgrade error
Hi,
I recently performed a firmware upgrade on a Dell MD3400 Storage Array.
Original Firmware Version: 08.20.12.60
New Firmware Version: 08.25.14.60
During the upgrade I had a error: 1081 error code.
During the upgrade process the transfer was completed but the system got stuck during the activation RAID array (2and3 step of the firmware upgrade), even if I could see that it put the network ports down and up again. I rebooted the machine after 30 min.
After the reboot I can see in my MDSM -> Tools -> Upgrade my RAID Controller the following status:
Status: Upgradable: Optimal
Current Firmware: 08.25.14.60
NSVRam version: N2701-825890-004
As well as in Tools -> Firmware inventory for that array I can see that firmware and NVSRam are updated to the latest version.
Can I consider the upgrade successful and ignore the error 1081, or the firmware is stored in memory and didn't apply to the machine?
Everything is working as normal btw.

Hello Salvatore88,
When you go into MDSM & check the recovery guru are there any errors present? In most case if you have no errors in recovery guru, then you should be all good. I have seen where the firmware upgrade will hang & once a restart is done the firmware upgrade will complete. Did you happen to gather a support bundle before you upgraded the firmware?
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
