Dell Powervault 200s

Hi

I am attaching my 200s with 8x 36Gb drives to my 2650 with perc 3DC and every time I do the 2650 shuts down. Then after a few minutes boots back up until I attach the 200s again.

Its as though there is a power surge but I've checked that there isnt - any ideas? is it cable related or is it the card?

If I recall rightly the 200S has a power follow mode such that if the power goes off on the 200S, the server will power down (this was a safety interlock). Try turning everything off, attaching the PV200S, then enable power on the PV200S, then your server.

Really it is the other way around, if the system is powered down, the 220 will follow it. Is any events showing up in the even log? Could be a thermal problem being reported.
