Does Windows 2003 Storage Server use CALs?
I'm really surprised I haven't been able to find the answer to this in all the places I've looked online at Microsoft and Dell...
Does the Windows Storage Server -- as used in, say, the PowerVault 745N -- impose a limit on the number of connected users? E.g., does it come with a number of Client Access Licenses like the regular Windows Server does?
Thank you,

No.
Trying to find backup on this from MS's site, but here's all I can see right now:
; clients attaching to Windows Powered NAS devices don’t need client access licenses (CALs).
(This is from their whitepaper found here - Page 4):

There's another article by Paul Thurrott (Windows IT Pro Magazine):
The list price of a Windows Storage Server device is the only up-front cost: Unlike most Windows 2003 products, Windows Storage Server doesn't require you to purchase Client Access Licenses (CALs).
