formatting new drives
I am running a PV650F currently with 9GB drives. I would like to replace these with 73GB Cheetah drives model ST373307FC firmware 0006. When I insert these drives they are not reconized and the slots are marked empty. I understand there is a way to format them from the console port using the CLI. Does anyone know how this is done?

Drives for a PC650F require a specific firmware level and formatting (e.g. # Bytes per sector) from Dell. If your drives are from another source then the slots will be marked empty, as the drives are seen as incompatible.
The interface to a PV650F is via the controllers with internal connections to the drives. There is no supported means of bypassing the controllers to directly connect to the drives for FCAL commands.
