How to perform a graceful shutdown of MD3220

We run an MD3220 along with an expansion shelf .  The expansion shelf is a model MD1220.  We have a planned power outage for our building coming up soon.  We have no generators onsite.  So, I need to figure out how to do a graceful shutdown.  Can anyone provide me with a step-by-step guide on how to correctly power this thing off and back on?  This system is very new to me, so I'm quite clueless on where to start.  What I learned today is that it seems I can access the admin console via PowerVault Modular Disk Storage Manager.  Beyond that, I could really use your help.

Thanks for the info!  I was in the Modular Disk Storage Manager app and didn't see an option to "shutdown."  Am I correct in assuming we just power off by flipping the power switch off on the outside of this thing?

flip the switches one by one, or the two at the same time?

Hello DELL-Sam L,
What if steps B and C of the shutdown process, and steps A and B of the power up process, start at the same time? To perform these steps sequentaly, I need to connect the MD12xx and MD32xx to different groups of UPS outlets. I can use one outlet group if these steps can be started simultaneously.

Hello prozaeck,

If you have an MD12xx attached to your MD32xx, your MD12xx needs to power on for about 1 minute before you can power on your MD32xx.  If you have them both power on at the same time, their is a chance that your MD12xx drives are not seen by your MD32xx.
