Install Linux on PV200s

hi All,

ive the following hardware

2 x PE750

1 PV 220 S (raid 5)

HA-0 perc 4/dc

HA-1 perc4/sc

i had no problem installing and using the cluster based on  windows os, actually i had the  necessity to move to linux os FC 8.

to be honest i dont know from where to start

first of all i turn on the pv220s

after the first node and i install on it the OS

the raid disk is recognized and during the first step the system ask on which drive i wish to install the OS

ive 2 option , pv220s and local hd

now i tried both .

if i install on local HD

the system hang returing "Error: loading operating system failed"

if i install on pv220s

the system hang without return any error before the OS start (no kernel loading is showed) and after the scsi test

what im doing wrong?

I was always told Linux (or at least Red Hat) doesn't support SCSI clustering (only fibre channel and iSCSI).

After setting up the hardware properly (set the raid controllers to cluster mode, set one of the PERC's SCSI ID to 6, set the PV220S to cluster mode, create your virtual disks, etc), set up 1 server and format the disks. Then power up the 2nd server and set up the cluster.

You'd want to contact Fedora support (if you can find such a thing) on info about whether that OS can cluster and if so, how to set that up.
