Load multiple tapes through the mailslot automatically

I have a 136T loader with one mailslot. I use NetBackup 5.1. I can put a tape in the mailslot, and import the tape via NetBackup. This works fine. However, it gets a bit tedious going from the library to the NetBackup console if I need to load multiple tapes, since it's one round trip per tape.

 

Ideally, what I'd like is to have the operator put a tape in the mailslot, the loader automatically loads the tape into an available slot and the operator can put the next tape into the mailslot. Then the operator can do an inventory in NetBackup to update the configuration after she's loaded the batch. Of course I have to make sure there are enough free slots available.

 

I know you can load tapes on the front panel, but I find the interface a bit clunky. Also, the library needs to be taken offline for this.

 

In a perfect world, I'd like to have the ability to export multiple tapes in NetBackup, and have each exported to the mailslot in sequence without any user intervention more than physically remove the tapes.

 

I guess there's a reason for the mailslot upgrade you can get, with 6 or 12 mailslots. :)
