Logical Connector (Redundant Path) warning

Hi,

On our MD1220 enclosure in OpenManage we see Logical Connector (Redundant Path) warning. In the event logs we have couple of messages:

Unexpected sense. SCSI sense data: Sense key: 5 Sense code: 24 Sense qualifier: 0: Enclosure 0:0 Controller 1, Connector 0

Recently I was creating couple of virtual disks and maybe chose wrong connection path?

What else could cause this?

Thanks

Is this on the same MD1220 as the array that you believe may have a failed Hard drive? I looked up that Sense key and this is what it means: Illegal Request - invalid field in CDB (Command Descriptor Block). We would need to look more into the logs as this doesn't look like a hardware failure. Did you get this right after you created one of the VD? What is the current status of the VD that you created?

It seems was related with one of hard disk issues. After we replaced same disk to enclosure and creared it's configuration storage does not report any errors and disk works fine. Thanks.

RE: MD1200 Redundant Path Warning

Hello securevideo,

What I would check is to make sure that there isn’t a loose cable coming from one of your MD1200 to your server.  Also are you running dual controllers in your MD1200 or do you just have a single controller?

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
