max tape capacity for ARCHIVE python 06408-xxx SCSI Sequeintial Device

I have a PowerEdge 1600SC. What is the max tape capacity I can use for the drive. I am currently using DDS4 40GB and want to use a larger capacity tape.
Many Thanks

You are already using the max capacity tape for that drive. If you require more storage capacity you will have to upgrade to a different tape drive.

I have the same tape unit in my PowerEdge 2600, and i'm using Veritas Backup Exec 8.6
OS is Small Business Server 2000.
My problem is this, I have been buying DDS 4 tape but seem to be unable to get any more than 20GB on each tape. i have set the veritas software to "use hardware compression if not use software"

Can anyone please tell me how to get the compression to work?
