md3220i stuck at loading flash file iSCSI

I had a raid controller in a duplex arrangement fail. (No lights on the rear at all.) MDSM reports the slot as being empty now that the failed controller has been removed.

I took another controller and made certain the firmware and NVSRAM firmware matched the remaining controller.

I issued a sysWipeAllConfigData command on this other controller, since it was in another md3220i and I needed to move it into the failed slot.

Here is the boot log for the card that I've moved. I've tried removing it and reinserting it, but it stops at the same place. MDSM reports the card is present, but is marked offline with a red X.

This is my last spare. Should I attempt to bring the card online via MDSM?

The reason I hesitate is because I attempted this same procedure with a different controller. The difference is that controller had a newer firmware. That controller is no longer responding to console or MDSM commands. I don't want to lose my last spare.

Lappiel,

At this point the only options would be Sam Ls steps, or to call in to support.

News: I replaced the faulty controller with a new one, but nothing changed. This is the serial output, it also says a new firmware is available:

I understand that maybe the steps by DELL-Sam L are the only solution, anyway the Recovery Guru says:

"Service action (removal) allowed: NO"

Should I do something for it?

Also, the ethernet cables need to be already plugged in when inserting the raid module or doesn't matter?

Performing syntax check...
Syntax check complete.
Executing script...
Could not set consistency mode at line 1.
Error 1010 - A management connection to the RAID controller module in slot 0 must be defined to complete this operation.

If you are managing this RAID controller module directly through the Ethernet (out-of-band), you must define its management connection (IP address or DNS/Network name) using the Add Storage Array option.

If you are managing this RAID controller module through a host agent (in-band), verify that all physical paths to the RAID controller module are connected and operational. Then run the hot_add utility on the affected host, and then Refresh or Rescan the Host.
The command at line 1 that caused the error is:

set storageArray redundancyMode=simplex;

Script execution complete.

Well? What now?

Ok solved by re-discovering the array.

Then followed the steps, various not-so-clear actions and messages, big headache... but it works.

Thanks
