MD3260 - Status - Storage Array Needs Attention
Hello,
I am a novice user with this expansion unit. I just turned it on yesterday. I have no experience with her.
The unit displays this status - Storage Array Needs Attention
Probably some disk problem. But I have no idea what and I don't know how to find out.
Thanks in advance for the advice on how to proceed.

Hello Diego, Thanks in advance for your answer.
In your matrix of supported disks, I focused on 8 and 10 TB disks, which are relatively the latest.
I haven't managed to get any of these discs from us anywhere. They can't buy. They are no longer for sale. I only found some bazaar pieces in the units. I need more of them in this unit. At least 4 to start the unit.
So I need to find a model that can be bought and supported at the same time.
I found these firmware (A57_MD32_MD34_MD36_MD38_HDD_Firmware_with_ReadMe)
I managed to get a very similar disk.

The unit detects this disc:
However, the firmware differs slightly at the end of the Product ID. So this disc cannot be accepted.
Is there any chance of putting these disks into operation in the drive? Is there a certification for these newer drives? Or am I unlucky and this unit is useless to me?
Thank you.

Hello Maria,
Yes, I contacted your local dealer. It no longer offers most discs. They can supply 1 or 2 pieces of exceptions that they can supply. Which is not enough.
Is there any chance that DELL certifies more of today's models?
Thanks

Hello Nailen,
Thank you for your reply. As Diego mentioned, we can guarantee work only of certified by Dell hard drives and we don’t know how non-certified drives will be recognized by system. Did you contact local sales?
Please ask me if you have any questions,

Hello Maria,
I have one last question. The seller told me I didn't have to use DELL PowerVault Modular Disk Storage Manager. Then I can access the unit as a direct attached Storage (DAS). Then I can use basically any SAS disk even if it is not certified.
Is this possible?
Thank you

Hi,
It is not a validated configuration.
https://dell.to/30Wz8dX and https://dell.to/3l8AdpB show how to configure it.

Right, we don’t support direct attached.

Hi,
Yes I understand that, but it seems to be my only way to operate a DELL device.
Which chapter should I look for in the manual? I didn't find it anywhere DAS or direct attached.
Thanks
