MD3660i won't start after disk swap

Hi

We have 2 MD3660i. One of them (1) is decommissioned and used for spare parts. Other one (2) is online. 2 disk has failed in nr 2. I took 2 disks from nr 1. After is replaced the first disk nr 2 just seemed to crash. Now it won't boot up correctly. Fans are running full and all lights on backend of controllers are lit. I have tried putting the old failed disk back again. But no difference. I guess there still was data from the other system on the disk that has caused this. But how can I solve this now? It respond to ping on mgmg port but. It never goes online in dsm client.
Luckily there is no real data on it. I was just about setting it up. System was working with new logical disks that I created the day before.

Best Regards

Hello,

If you can, it would be best to connect to the MD with a serial cable and capture the system output from there. With the circumstances, I believe we'll get a corruption error preventing boot up, but this output should help to confirm this suspicion. In order to get this, you'll want to start a terminal emulation program like putty, teraterm, minicom or hyperterminal, then pull the controller from the system & wait about 3 minutes (settings 115200-8-n-1). Finally, insert it back into your chassis and you should see the controllers boot process. You'll know that you're looking at the correct output if you get something like the 3rd post in the thread linked below.
