Modular Disk Storage Manager is not installed when trying to configure HOST ONLY
We have dell powervault MD3200i which I am trying to attach to DELL 2950 OS MS Server 2003 R2. I have installed the software on the server selecting Host only dropdown from the installed DVD. Rebooted the server and run the Modular disk configuration Utility from the server. The "configure host"option is greyed out and there is a message saying" The configure host option is disabled because the modular disk storage manager agent is not installed ". I have already setup one server as the manger and one as a host and the configured host is the same make, model and OS as the machine I am currently now having problems with. Has anyone else come across this? I have removed the software and reinstalled and still getting the same message.

If you are still having problems, copy the contents of the CD to the c drive of the server and run the setup from there. You may have to run the setup three times to get all of the configure host options and the modular disk storage agent

Which exact version of 2003 R2 do you have? Web Edition, Standard, Enterprise, Datacenter?

Standard edition is also the verison of the host I have already configured.

I find it pretty ridiculous this has STILL not been fixed in the updated resource DVD.

Wills96 this is really an issue with remote execution on the server and not the resource CD - but i feel your pain and confusion on it.
