Move MD3420 to new server
We had a server go out and it was replaced with a PowerEdge R340. I tried to move the MD3420 to the new server and it is not recognized by Windows 2016. Anything I need to do for the move? I can connect over IP with the MDSM. The card is a new SAS9300-8e and uses a cable connection. OMSA can see the card. MDSM shows an undefined mapping, DISK1 = LUN ?
Thank you!

Yes it is. See Page 43 https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_powervault/powervault-md3000_user%27s%20guide19_en-us.pdf
If i have more than one Hosts to connect i start connecting only the first one and configure one after another because when using SAS Frontend i want proper naming scheme (aka Hostname) within MD Storage manager and when seeing multiple SAS GUIDs at once iam unable to figure out which HBA is belong to which Host.

You must register the new HBA/Server on the MD and than use that new Host object to create a ACL aka assign it to the Volumes(LUNS). Without that the MD refuses connections from the Hosts and let him not get access to the volume.

Thank you Joerg. How would I do that? Is this in the user guide?

We only have one server connected to the MD. When I try to add a host I am asked for a host port identifier. Nothing in the drop down list. Don't know what to enter manually.

It is available now. I believe the solution was this command:
smcli -c "clear allVirtualDisks reservations;"
