so far I have moved the picker away from the drive using the Tools menu, and then removed the two magazines. Tried pressing the eject button on the drive to eject the tape but qit just made a nsaty sound and flashed all three lights (yellow, green and orange) together.
Have put a support call through to Dell for this one.
It sounds like you have SDLT drives in your 132T...is this correct?
If the drives are SDLT drives then with the symptoms you describe it sounds like you have a dropped leader problem with one of your drives. If this is the case you will need to have the drive replaced.
we do have a SDLT drive, and Dell have determined that it does require swapping out.
It took a while to get to this stage, I had to update the Firmware over Hyperterminal (long time since I have used that!) so that the RMU reports were up to date among other things, but so far been very pleased with Dell Support, unlike calling a certain software backup company whos name means truth in latin...
