Powervault - unable to map lun to default group
Hi,
I am attempting to map two LUNS to the default host group but get the following error.
Error 524 - Mapping to the default host group is not allowed because the storage partition feature is enabled.
I have 3 hosts all sharing access to the virtual disks, when looking through the documentation this all seems fine.
In the past we had one LUN mapped to this group but when i tried to add the second i got the error, i tried removing the existing lun and re-adding and then got the same error.
Is anyone able to advise as to why? or where i am going wrong. Or how i disable the storage partition feature on this default group?

Hello east_comp,
Thank you for choosing Dell.
I am sorry you faced with this issue.
Could you please write the model of PowerVault storage and the current firmware version?
I would also recommend you to check troubleshooting steps from other Dell Community Forum post:

Please, let me know if you have any questions,
Thanks.

Hi Maria,
Thanks for the reply, the model is the md3820i with latest firmware from dell support site (11.25.0G06.0026)
I have ended up getting this working by doing this, but previously our SAN had lun mapping to the "Default Group", i can only assume that either the update of firmware has disallowed this or the previous person who set it up was on "in band" instead of "out of band".
Like i say we are ok now.
Thanks
Jamie
