PV122T VS80 Backup Exec 10
I just moved to Veritas (Now Symantec) Backup Exec v10 for Windows Servers. I tested my PV122T autoloader on a test server with a Adaptec SCSI Card and it worked great! I moved the autoloader back to my PowerEdge 2650 w/ a Perc 3 RAID Controller. Now it won't inventory tapes in the drive. It displays this error in the job log:
Job started : Friday, August 12, 2005 9:22:55 AM
Job ended : Friday, August 12, 2005 9:23:10 AM
Final error: 0xe000e005 - The job has reported multiple errors. See the job log for details.
Final error category: Backup Device Errors
Completed status: Failed
Any Ideas?
Thanks in Advance,
Doug

Nevermind... Veritas informed me they DO NOT support Perc3. They only support Perc4.
They did state they don't recommend using tape drives on RAID controllers. See below:

No problem...
When you get the 39160 card just remember .... do not use the microsoft driver which will
load by default. Go grab the Adaptec driver off Dell website or Adaptec site.

Good Point! I usually do download the Dell or Manufacturer drivers to avoid problems.
I ordered it today and it shipped already so, hopefully tomorrow I'll be back in business.
