Also, the unit goes offline in BackupExec after the job fails.

Nevermind... Veritas informed me they DO NOT support Perc3.  They only support Perc4.

They did state they don't recommend using tape drives on RAID controllers.  See below:

If you have moved the 122T to the PERC controller this is what is causing your problems. You cannot run tape devices from a RAID controller.

Do yourself a favor and don't run any tape library on a perc controller. Just go ahead and run
it on the controller card it is certified on. If you don't.... trouble will follow.

Thanks for the input.  We've had quirky problems with our PV122T autloader ever since we purchased it about two years ago.  Funny... Dell never mentioned that the problems could have been related to the unit being connected to the Perc controller.  Oh well, they admin it now and their story matches what Veritas is telling me.  I just ordered an Adaptec 39160 PC SCSI card to run the unit.  Well, actually it's a dell branded 39160 card but it's still the same card but half the price. :)

Again, thanks for the input.

No problem...

When you get the 39160 card just remember .... do not use the microsoft driver which will
load by default. Go grab the Adaptec driver off Dell website or Adaptec site.

Good Point!  I usually do download the Dell or Manufacturer drivers to avoid problems.

I ordered it today and it shipped already so, hopefully tomorrow I'll be back in business.
