PV132T looking for Install Disk
We have a PowerVault 132T with two LTO2s in it. Each LTO2 drive is connected to a server.
Drive 1 is connected to a PowerEdge 6550 and Drive 2 is connected to a PowerEdge 2850 via SCSI.
I've partitioned the library into two partitions 8:14 with 1 cleaning slot. The library is set as Lun:Lun.
The PowerEdge 2850 is running Veritas 9.1 and can see it's 14 slots fine. The problem is with the PowerEdge 6550...it's running Veritas 9.1 as well but it is showing 23 slots available in Veritas and everytime I restart the server I get the following message on the screen:
Please insert the Compact Disk labeled 'Dell PV132T Install Disk' into your CD-ROM drive (E:) and then click OK.
You can also click OK if you want files to be copied from and alternate location, such as a floppy disk or a network server.
Any suggestions?

On a side note, your cabling setup is not supported. For cabling instructions check this.
If you want to share the library between 2 servers, you need to buy a fibre bridge option, a fibre switch and a fibre HBA for each server. You'd also need to be sure you get the right software (licenses) for your backup software (the shared storage option).

It should work fine. I was working with a Dell technician on Thursday and he mentioned nothing about our setup not being supported. Actually, I'm pretty sure a Dell technician helped set it up in the first place.
Ever since the tech I was working with installed some new drivers on the 6550 it has been asking for the disk (which the library does not ship with).

I just updated the drivers to:
Driver Provider: Dell
Driver Date: 3/14/2003
Driver Version: 5.3.0.0
I'll reboot later tonight and see if things work propertly after.

Shouldn't need a Dell specific driver for the changer, but it won't hurt it if you use it.
Are you using Veritas drivers for the tape devices?

After installing the newest driver for the Changer and rebooting it seems to be working fine.
Ran my backups last night without any problems.
