...repeat many times and we have other errors reported.
This PV660F has one controller with amber fault light and I did Dell call to replace the controller, but until now was not replaced yet. Between the call to replace until now, the PV660F paralized two times and I need to turn-off and turn-on to return to operate normally. But the messages above started to appear again.
Now, I am confused because I have the PV660F with two controllers connected with two different PV51F switch and every server has two HBA´s (all redundant). Why the PV660F stop responding after some time working with only one controller ?? Can I have other problem with this equipment ??
Thanks to all, and sorry for my English.

If nothing has changed on the software side of your environment, it is probably hardware and best just to work with Dell on but I should point out that if by some chance you have an NFS package installed on the machine for communicating with a Unix system (such as Microsoft's SFU or Schaffer Solutions NFS) you may need to remove it. We were in this situation and the NFS portmapper would conflict with the qlogic software responsible for path failover and we would randomly get messages like you were receiving and also had it crash our 660s (bad news when a software problem on one host can bring down the entire storage enclosure).
Thx.

Thanks David,
But I did not installed any kind of software that you mentioned, I´m pure Windows2000 environment. The Dell representative replaced the apparent faulted controller and also did a firmware upgrade. The problem seem´s to be resolved, but now I have other issue:
I can´t see any information about the controller on slot 0 (the controller replaced) using Array Manger. I just view the slot 1 but the properties show me that controller partner is ok. Any idea about this ??
Thanks.

Yes, we can´t see the properties of the replaced controller, but the PV660F is working fine now. After the replace the controller I did not rebooted the unit, I don´t know if it is the cause.
Bye.

Thanks for your replay. We've replaced just about everything there is to replace and still have the same problems. Lost a single drive last week and it brought down all three servers attached to the SAN. Even though we've got RAID-5 configured. So much for failover!

There were 2 possiblilites,
1) the new controller didnt finish post and never built up the communication with the other
2) Qlconfig/qmsj needs to map the new controller

Hello!.
I had the same problem but without Request Sense warning message.
PV660F hanged three times and only power off and power on cycle helped to restore accessibilty of data.
Error was eliminated after replacement both LS module. (one of them was then confirmed failed)
The question is why error of one module could cause hang up of whole PV660F if it is redundant?

Sorry, got disconnected...anyway, I belive that the only thing you need to know about the secondary controller card is that it is ok and that the system is fault tolerant.

I have exactly the same event messages but the two controller lights are green. I can only read the information on the controller that I have connected to (One server with one QL2200). Anyone else resolved this issue? We lost the entire array once already.
Many Thanks.

The drive switch channels and the 04 event codes are saying one channel is having problems and it is trying to resolve them by switching the drives to the other channel. Nomally a part on the channel is bad and needs to be replaces. Please get with Dell support to have them help you troubleshoot this, since it can get involved.
