Slow Network Performance-Md3200i
Hello,
I suffer from the problem of slow network transfer files. One of the phenomena I encountered is slow backup. I back up the servers using Veeam Backup and replication 7 and the data transfer rate is 80 \ MBS. While the software informs that-Primary bottleneck: Source. Ie the storage.
Attached below my network diagram.
Just some clarifications chart:
1. ISCSI network card set JumboFrame = 9000 on the server and in storage. (Including in-Switch)
2.Iscsi Switch = 3Com 3CDSG8. network Switch = HP ProCurve 1810G-24.
3. I have 140 users working on four servers - Terminal in Load Balancing. Exchange Server 2010 with 700GB DB file server with 900 GB of files.
My question is if I add another network card with two ports per server and I will connect them to Storage (ISCSI get better performance? Maybe you should add another card network connection?
I'd love to hear other people's reactions that have similar network.
Thanks in advance

Hello itzikd,
Looking at your layout of your setup all looks correct as we state in our deployment guide. Now you state that when doing backups that you get a slow speed. Is the slow performance happening during a specific backup jobs or is it for all backup jobs? Also is there any other time that you get slow performance?
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hey, thanks for the response.
I experience not only slow backups but also copying files from the file server, and sometimes users complain about the slowness of Outlook with the mail server.
I know my system is not working correctly but unfortunately I do not know what to put my finger thing.
Do you think adding iSCSI card would improve performance?
I want to add the Intel network card (the card is installed now Brodcom) that I have read in various forums that the Brodcom nic doesn't provide high performance definition Jambo Frame.

Hello itzikd,
You could look at adding some new nics into the servers and then adding another connection to both controllers in the MD3200i. By adding another connection from the MD3200i to your iSCSI switch should help spread the data among all the connections & improve your performance. One thing I forgot to as is what type of drives do you have in your MD3200i? As in size & speed of the drives.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi Again,
i add a result of HD Tune tests that i made on my hyper v. you can see that the read test from the local disk is much better than from the MD3200i.
1. From MD3200i
2.From Local Disk

Are you still having problems with slow speed?
