Using Powervault 100T Dat 72 in Netware 6.5 server

Hi there,

I have got a Dell Poweredge 1800, with a pre-installed Dell PowerVault 100T DAT 72 Tape Drive.

Recently I have configured the Tapeware software (7.0) to work with the Netware 6.5 install on this server. However the error message I receive, leads me to believe that the server cannot see, or does not have the Tape Drive installed.

Can anyone tell me, as I can't get anything from Novell, where I can look in Netware to see if the Tape Drive is installed and active. Or does anyone have a useful URL to some support on Netware & these tape drives?

Yours in frustration!!!
Martin

from the System console type: List Storage Adapters  this will list all the devices attached to SCSI controllers. You should see your tape drive aligned under the appropriate controller.

You may need to load NWASPI

As Dell Bob states, make sure you are loading NWASPI.CDM in your startup.ncf prior to the HAM driver(s) for your SCSI/IDE controller(s).
