Which raid controller to use with powervault 220s
I need to connect my powervault 220s to my 2600 poweredge server running windows 2003 standard. Which raid controller do I need? Can I use a third party controller like the Adaptec 2120S? Why should I pay over $700 for the Dell raid controller when the Adaptec is just over $300?
Also, when configuring the powervault, what is the proceedure for using the two channel option, so as to split the drives in half to connect to two different servers?

No reason why you can't use a 3rd party raid card, just don't expect any support if you get problems.
Just set the switch at the back to split bus mode and power cycle the enclosure.
