5820 external hard drives keep disconnecting
My external western digital easy store hard drives keep disconnecting and when they do, I keep getting the yellow triangle for the USB controller drivers. When I restart the computer the Drive show up perfectly fine and then after a little bit, they disconnect again and I get the error. I have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them and it still keeps happening. I do not know how to resolve this. I go to the Dell driver’s website and let it scan my computer and it says no updates are available.

Hello,
try to disable all power management options for usb. Alternatively do you have a powered hub ? If yes, plug one drive to it and lets see if that one stops being affected

Have you tried another USB cable or another USB port?

Lastnight I did an sfc scan and DISM on the command line and a offline chkdsk. I also went on device management and under usb root hub, I disabled allow this computer to turn off this device to save power. As of this morning, my drives are still online and connected. I’ll check them here this afternoon and see if everything is still fine.

Update… all drives are still online. I’m assuming disabling the usb root hub power option fixed the issue.
