Dell 3460 Corrupted BIOS
Hello,
I've been troubleshooting my Dell Precision 3640, whose BIOS got corrupted after the latest update, and now just boot loops into the BIOS Auto Recovery Tool without success. I've spent all day trying USB BIOS Recovery without any success.
I have followed the instructions to create a USB Bios device using the latest .RCV file as well as older versions to test.
However, with a USB device the power button flashes 3 amber and 6 white, which according to docs is a "Paid SPI volume error".
When booting from the hard drive, Dell Auto Recovery uses the following files, which I have tried altering into newer BIOS RCV files, which also didn't work:
-/EFI/Dell/Bios/Recovery/BIOS_BIR.RCV
-/EFI/Dell/Bios/Recovery/BIOS_CUR.RCV
-/EFI/Dell/Bios/Recovery/BIOS_PRE.RCV
Please let me know if there is anything else I can try, as my machine is out of warranty.

You can attempt with the latest BIOS recovery image from here https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=r421w&oscode=wt64a&productcode=precision-3460-workstation
Copy the BIOS Recovery Image File to a FAT32 formatted USB drive.
Temporarily remove the boot drive from your system.
Remove all external devices except for mouse and keyboard.
Perform the BIOS recovery.
