Dell Precision 3650 Tower SSD-1 does not work

I have a Precision 3650 Tower Core i9 16GB 512GB SSD computer.

I tried to install another ssd in it, i.e. Samsung 980 SSD 1 Tb M.2 SSD in slot SSD-1, but the slot did not work.

I noticed that the SSD-1 slot had a paper note saying that this slot does not support i3/i5 processors. But my computer has an i9 processor.

What can I do to get the SSD-1 working? Will updating the BIOS help or have I been scammed?

Brg,

From the service manual is this note:

This slot is only operational with 11th Generation Intel Core i5/i7/i9/Xeon-W processors.

Is your i9 a Gen 11 CPU? Also have you tried slot 2 or 3 (you did not specify which slot the boot SSD is in).

I am not a Dell employee...I am forum volunteer

Serious work on an E5430 and constantly building and working on an i5-6500 Desktop

The computer boots from the m.2 disk in SSD-2.
Aha. I don't have a service manual so I didn't know this. The CPU is 10th Generation Intel® Core™ i9 Processors, so the matter is clear in this respect.
I will install a traditional 2.5" ssd disk.
Otherwise. What would be the right installation kit for the aforementioned 2.5" disc.
