Dell Precision Optimizer - is it useful?
We have a bunch of Precision Workstations. Along comes the Precision Optimizer, which let you 'optimize' performance for a selected set of software. Now we happen to use Autodesk software in the list of programs the Precision Optimizer offers, Like Revit, 3DSMax and AutoCAD.
But does it really work? I.e. does the Performance Optimizer establish a performance gain for these applications? And if so, what does the Performance Optimizer actually do?

I can’t speak about the optimisation itself but I found it useful to see the GPU temp and usage. I had an old Quadro Fermi 4000 and the Optimiser showed me it was running at 90 degrees when stressed. So that was a prompt to get a new (and faster) GPU.
Also it is nice to see the GPU utilisation graph just to ensure the GPU is maxed out when doing a render thus confirming you have all the settings correct and are not relying on just on the CPU.
