HELP! T5600 - Cannot install Windows 10 Ver. 1903 - upg or clean
Hi, All, I have a Dell T-5600 as follows: Dual Xeon E5-2670's 64GB Dell Factory RAM 512 Samsung PRO SSD (and bought a Samsung EVO 1TB used for clean install) GeForce 1070 GTX Latest BIOS - A19 Current Win 10 version 1803 (17134.984) Been running Win 10 Pro since April 2018 without issue. Have tried upgrading to 1903 several times, all failed with a code 0xc1900101. Have also tried a clean install using a USB drive created using the Media Creation Tool for version 1903. That has failed (not getting to any user input GUI's) with: "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart" and "Stop code: IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL" (It does not say "DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL, nor does it reference any file) For the purposes of this post, please assist with resolution of a clean install and don't worry about the upgrade issue. The USB stick I used worked successfully on a clean install on a T3600, yet I did test it (all good) and re-imaged the 1903 install, again using the Media Creation Tool. Same result. All extraneous devices have been removed, only the single (new) SSD installed, KB, monitor and mouse. I even swapped out the GTX 1070 with a basic Radeon HD 7450 to rule out the video card. BIOS is in legacy mode, and I have disabled every option I thought might potentially cause an issue (i.e., hyper-threading, memory caching, etc.). Again, didn't have an issue with the initial install well over a year ago, nor any subsequent update, save for 1903. Have never had an issue (BSOD's, etc.) this entire time. Can someone HELP me? Hey, All,
I know that this is a REALLY late reply, and thank you to all of whom tried to help, but nothing worked.
Nothing, that is, until the 1209 release of Windows 10.
The really ironic thing is that I have two roughly identical T5600's; one of which would clean install 1203 without issue, the other would fail with "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL".
Both clean installs, different results completely.
My only thought is that there may have been some minor differences in the motherboards, but I can't imagine what would cause this, but maybe MS could?
I tried everything suggested, with at least five different clean install attempts using v.1203 - all the same... go figure.

That could be a driver issue or a memory problem as per the following link. I would also run diagnostics on the system. At the Dell splash screen start tapping F12 and choose diagnostics. Watch for any memory errors.

Same problem happened on my T5600 before. I finally fixed it in a tricky way. As you got another PC on hand, you may try it as well:

I finally decided to upgrade from Win7 to Win10 on my Dell T5600. It has nothing but a pain so far. Would you kindly elaborate on how you made it to work?
The latest Win10 version is the one released in Oct 2020, aka Ver 20H2.

I didn't manage to install windows 20H2 on my T5600 DELL. 1909 works fine though. I think it might be a BIOS issue. I am using BIOS A 19

Remove all ram and put in 16 gig max.
Then what happens?
