Is precison 7820 xeon-w compatible?

No, it's not xeon-w compatible. You can use only a bronze/silver/gold/platinum ( and depending on the revision of the mb , gen 1 or gen 1&2 )

Edit, maybe i said something not correct... i see a company in california selling 7820 configured to order even with xeon-w. But in this case I wonder which motherboard revision are they using

Take this with caution, because I'm using benchmarks to extrapolate :

Mb 0804P1  , gen 2 ( shows having a gen2 refreshed cpu )

Mb 05WNJ2 , gen 1

I found 0g7w4r written on the motherboard. Is it gen1 or gen2?

Anyway, it's good to know that at least 1 revision supports xeon-w. I didn't even think of looking for it on geekbench browser. Thank you.

good question, needs someone more knowledgeable than me. I see it referenced in some limited benches during 2019, and with gen 1

Kind of old, but I just got a W-3223 and I have a Precision 7820 with the 0804P1 motherboard (according to MSINFO32). I haven't installed it yet but I think I'll try.

While I can't find any W-3223 with 0804P1 on Geekbench, I did find one W-3225 (same as W-3223 but clocked higher) and one W-3245. This gives me hope.
