Issue configuring Raid on windows 11 for 2 NVMe

Hello guys

Workstation 5820 with 2 NVMe installed on frontal Flebay pcie
Controller: Intel RSTe

Operating System: Windows 11

I would like to create raid 1

I not found Intel rst manage on Dell support website and if download from intel website get "not supported" during installation

On dell support website found only "intel virtual raid on cpu" but not display NMVe

There is any solutions for create raid with 2 NVMe??

Thanks

Hello,

you need to buy and install a VROC key

On your 5820, the Intel RSTe controller is connecting to SATA drives only, not NVMe drives.

The Intel VROC (Virtual Raid On Cpu) is the software stack that manages NVMe drives attached to Intel VMD (Volume Management Device).  Intel VROC Standard upgrade key is required to create RAID 0, 1, 10 arrays.  Otherwise, your NVMe drives can connect in JBOD mode only.

Other RAID controller option is add-on Broadcom MegaRAID SAS 9460-16i

@Chino de Oro

I have order and installed vRoc Standard Upgrade Key
install Virtual Raid on Cpu from DELL support (driver + application)

and finally reboot

But I still don't see NVME from Vroc Application :/

There is anything to enable on bios?

Thanks for help

@webstyler , everything should be the same as before.  You should see the drives with or without the key.  The only difference is create volume option is available when you access Device Configuration (from F12).

As for processors question, two drives from front flexbay will work with Xeon only.  The Intel X does not have enough bandwidth (lanes) and is reduced to one accessible drive.  That was based on configurations of previous order shipments.  Things could change with today configurations.

Have you checked your workstation's BIOS/UEFI settings to confirm that both NVMe drives are recognized and to see if there are any RAID-specific settings that need to be enabled for configuring RAID 1?
