Precision 3420 XP chipset driver
Please don't ask why, but I must get XP working on this desktop (Precision 3420). It will be air-gapped from the internet.
I have got XP loaded, but the USB ports will not work without the chipset driver. I am thinking that anything that the q100 series Intel chipset is backwards compatible with will work, but am having difficulty finding an XP Intel chipset drive that works. Please help, thanks in advance.

The Precision 3420 wasnt designed to support Windows XP, so Dell does not provide XP drivers for this system. However, you may be able to find compatible drivers from the individual component manufacturers.
To find an XP-compatible Intel chipset driver, you can try visiting the Intel Download Center website and searching for drivers for the Q100 series chipset. Be sure to select the correct chipset model for your system.
Keep in mind that even if you are able to find XP-compatible drivers, there may be other hardware or software compatibility issues that could prevent your system from functioning properly. It's possible that you may need to consider using a more modern operating system or hardware that is designed to work with XP.
Also, please note that running an unsupported operating system like XP can leave your system vulnerable to security risks and may not be compliant with certain regulations or requirements. still if you want to use avoid using it for internet usage or use an antivirus.

In the second sentence I tell you it will be airgapped from the internet, but thank you for supporting what I was already intending on doing. And no, I could not find an XP driver for the q100 series chipset that would work, already tried that route, hence my request.
Thanks for your reply anyway.
I went with plan B and used an HP desktop. It works great.
