Precision T5500 won't post, only diagnostic led 2 is on.
Hi,
I just got a Precision T5500, When plugged in and powered on the powerbutton doesnt light up and only diagnostic led 2 lights up with the hard drive and network led.I have done many tests with swapping out different components and doing the dell power supply diagnostics.
I have gone through all the components and cannot find anything. It has dual E5530s with 16gb of ram and the OD883F motherboard.
I would really like to get this running so any help would be greatly appriciated!

Hi Caleb,
LED 2 lit, with the power LED unlit isn't a listed error code. In a situation such as this I would suggest getting the system into a minimum to post configuration - remove all components connected to the motherboard apart from power, CPU and front I/O panel. This should result in the power LED being lit with the 1 LED also lit to indicate no memory detected. If you get anything other than this, try swapping in the other CPU. If there's still no difference, it's most likely a motherboard failure.

Thanks for the response. I have tried all different combinations of Ram, gpu, another psu and swapped the cpu from the riser card. Same error, but when I unplug it and plug it back in the #2 light isnt on, and none of the other lights are on.
Do you think it is a motherboard issue? I found some of the CRH6C boards on ebay for $45 that were the newer versions, would that work fine?

Yes, sounds like the motherboard to me too. CRH6C should be ok but I can't say with 100% certainty because there were some motherboards released that weren't generally available and it's possible, though not very likely, that you may have one of them. If you PM me your service tag I'll check for you.
