Precision T7920 Workstation Resizable Bar Support

We recently acquired a Precision 7920 workstation with dual Xeon processors. We want to install a pair of Intel Arc Pro B70 graphics cards for some AI lab work. However, try as we might, we can't get the machine to boot when we install both, or even one of these. I have memory map IO above 4GB enabled in BIOS. Has anyone else encountered this, and hopefully resolved it? I'd really appreciate any guidance you may be able to offer. This is an awesome, albeit slightly older, workhorse of a machine and we really want to make this work.

Try with just one.

Be sure Power-Supply is big-enough and all the video-card's PCIe-Power cables are connected.

Disable Secureboot.

Still not working? ... remove coin-battery and do a CMOS reset.

@Tesla1856 - thanks so much for the advice. I have a 1400 watt power supply. I tried with only 1 of the b70's. Definitely had 8-pin PCIe power cable connected. I disabled secure boot. None of those worked. Our machine just boots to the BIOS screen - never makes it to OS boot loader. However, I have not tried removing the cmos battery and / or doing a cmos reset. Will give that a try next. Has that worked for you?

@robarola ,

1. If it's Posting, I wonder why the OS is not loading ... weird.

2. Well, yeah ... recovering from a SecureBoot Violation (red box) once. Also read it helps others to get a clean Post after swapping video card (they were getting no video-no Post).

@Tesla1856 Unfortunately, the cmos battery / cmos reset didn't help either. This 7920 just boots directly to bios screen. So frustrating. Given the huge number of these machines out there, I would hope that Dell might weigh in at some point

The 7920 was released in 2017.  I suggest replacing the size 2032 battery with a new one and reset BIOS via blue jumper method.  I've had success with this when my 3620 would no longer boot and it gave me freezes and BSOD.

It usually doesn't do any good to put the same battery back in place unless it was tested.
