I put in dual E5-2699a V4s.  There are (edited to accomodate the idiotic profanity checker bot here) lies, darned lies, and benchmarks, but this notwithstanding my passmark CPU rating is about 50,000.  This is about 1/2 to 2/3 of the faster AMD Threadripper and Epyc chips.  I put in a 2080 Ti for graphics.  It works pretty well.

I haven't seen the higher TDP versions you mention.  My chips are rated 145 watts.  I have the 1300W power supply so no problems.  The stock cooling for the chip is inadequate so I need to figure out a better solution.  I'm heat-removal limited in terms of sustained processing power right now.  I have one of the "liquid cooling" CPU coolers (not installed yet - been looking for another one, and will cut a hole in my case cover and put in in a metal mesh to approximate the vented cover).   But I'm concerned that this older cooler may not work great - do these things lose there coolant over time?)   I'm trying to figure out if I could put in a liquid cooling system with external fins and fan.

In any case, dual 2699a v4 CPUs work great.
