T1650 wont start

Question

Hello. My T1650 started to have a strange behavior. When I put the pc in sleep or I shut down and try to start , the pc it not start. the power led blink yellow and white. pcstart for 3 second and stop again and again. I see the cpu fan spin.

now the only way to have it started is to unplug the power cord, let it for 15 second, and repluged. the pc start by itself, but with bios reseted by default (it ask for date and time).

I changed the power supply, changed the battery no succes. I tried to update the bios, via windows and DOS, but no update success. it restart right after processing update. Bios version is A11, I tried A12, A13, A15, A27, A28 with no success. I also did a reset of the the bios, via RTS pins, but same result.

Now the only way to use the workstation is to cut the power for 15 sec and replug.

Any thought?

Does the clock reset every time even with a new battery and just in case did you try a second battery in case the first one was not good?

Examine the board, look for anything that looks like a leaking or bad capacitor or any insects or critters that could have gotten in the system and done some damage.

Any add in cards that you can try with other known good cards?

Are there power saving features enabled in the BIOS?    Will the computer have the same startup behavior if you do a complete shutdown instead of going to sleep?

hi, thanks for input. I checked another battery, same thing, it seems that the MB don t have any signs of damage. I do not see any capacitor burned. I tried 2 video card that works on another PC. I really don t know what happened.

If ido shut down is the same thing like sleep. No start until unplug the power with bios reseted at default. All the time, I have a power led blink fast one white and one yellow, no blink for 10second, and again white-yellow, and same pattern. In this time, fan of CPu turn at blinking, and stopted on no blink, and start again and stop. Is like it want to start but something is stopping it.

I will like to update the bios in case of corrupted bios, but no any luck. .Any thought for updating the bios? Anyway I cannot change anything in bios, since after exit bios, pc restart and no power on. Same pattern blinking white-yellow,
