T1700 battery and power on issues

Does it boot without a battery?

By any chance tested new battery or tried a different one?  I use Duracell as they last around 5 years.  Sony only lasted me 2 years.

I remember one user had a similar problem.  This would be at your own risk. - User got the thing to boot and installed battery with PC turned on.  Probably best to have thin latex/rubber gloves on.

A halfway decent PSU tester might not hurt if no luck with any of the above.  PSU testers at Amazon 

 Actually after turning the fans  on and off 3 times it boots, fine. Mind you dead battery or no battery, as soon as I turn on my power strip it goes into booting without asking me.

Diagnostics only say about front usb not connected and chassis fan being at fault. Have 4 pin dell fans and heatsink fan is dell too.

Made my own power cable connector, leds light up. When powered on, the power button shuts off the computer, also turns it back on if I the psu is connected and supplying standby voltage. 

All of that without battery. 

Funny thing this motherboard apparently has another fan connector, the inlet fan , that usually goes in front, but the manual does not list it at all and it is not working even if a fan is connected to it.

If I put a working battery 2.8v it wont boot by pressing power button.

So by "led" you meant you have led strips?

Only a couple of other things I can think of.  1. Battery should be 3.5v.  2. It boots by itself when power strip is turned on because that option is probably turned on in BIOS Power Management.

You know the 2 leds on the 5 pin power cable. Those leds. 

Gonna check those options in bios.
