T3500 Hard Disk Seeks Back and Forth Continuously
This is not a new issue to me. I have noticed that the Hard Disk Drive constantly seeks back and forth while the system is running. I have had our IT people at work look at it. They tell me other Dell computers we have do the same thing. Is there any way to get it to stop?

Are the HDD's making a clicking noise, hence the thought of them seeking back & forth? Or is the seeking back & forth producing anything else or noticeable onscreen? And one more - Are the other PC's also T3500's?
If the HDD's are making a clicking noise, backup all files, data, etc., if not automatically done already. Clicking noise is one of 2 things - HDD going bad or a virus.
On the T3500 you describe, upon power on or restart, run diagnostics. Full diagnostics is best, but you might to wait until end of day to run so you don't have to wait for completion. You might also have the option to test only the HDD. Instructions in screengrab below are from pg. 10 of Precision T3500 Service Manual.
