I may have a corrupted bios on this system Precision T3600
When looking around in my bios options it totally freezes after a few seconds. Barely lets me do anything...
I bought it off amazon in 2018 and it allready shipped w A17 bios version.... I've been having a lot of random lockups lately on linux and I had a look at journalctl and found this:
TSC found unstable after boot, most likely due to broken BIOS. Use 'tsc=unstable'
Would flashing to A18 possibly fix this issue and my corrupted bios? And does updating bios versions reflash or just apply patches?
ok... one thing that was bad before I did that settings reset... one of the last pages was a "system logs" thing in bios...
before it was totally blank
after I reset it now the log actually shows stuff...
the log entry said "please run the setup, there appears to be incorrect settings in bios" !! that was around the time I bought this system so the amazon seller must have flashed it really quickly before selling it to me in 2018 without resetting things...
seems to be working a bit better after the reset...
however, please do not close this thread yet, as I am now moving on to the other issues now..

@bradthetechnut the bios works and the system functions but it has random lock ups
the bios config locks up randomly as well.
do you think that upgrading it to A18 will fix the issues?
