I think it should be okay to use 6 to 8 pins cable because the card only requires about 125w and the PCIe slot and the PEG cable combined power already exceed that requirement.
Thanks for the reply Chino. That is what I am thinking and hoping also as the Z240 gave it 150W and no problem there.
My only concern is that both 6 pins need to be connected to the GPU (regardless of it's power needs), due to some quirky, Dell proprietary requirement!
Anywho. We'll give it a shot and post the result later in the week.
