Thunderbolt 3 Card for Precision 3630 Tower

Question

I requested a Thunderbolt 3 add-in Card from my Dell sales rep for my Precision 3630. I was quoted a kit, Part #: 555-BEOX. I received this card yesterday and it includes the card and an 18' long full size DisplayPort to full size DisplayPort cable - that’s it. I ran Dell command update first to ensure all updates were installed first. Then I downloaded and installed the Intel Thunderbolt driver/software from Dell’s website>shut down and installed the card into PCIe slot #4>connected the DP cable to the DP in on the new TB card and the other end into one of the DP connectors on my Quadro P2000 video card>booted up. Windows did not recognize the card. I rebooted and check BIOS; it says slot #4 is empty so BIOS isn’t even seeing the card. Called Dell ProSupport; spent 1.5+ hours on with them. They are saying that the card has a 5-pin GPIO connector on it (which it does) and that needs to connect to the system motherboard. Problem is, Dell didn’t give me that cable AND my board doesn’t seem to have a GPIO header or Thunderbolt header connector on it. I’ve seen articles online that say XX20 and XX30 systems don’t need the GPIO cable though. Please help! Do I have a bad card? Is something wrong with my 3630 system? Or is it just that the 3630 doesn’t support Thunderbolt? -Frustrated and confused

I have the card and experienced the same issue. PCI-e slot 3 works perfectly.

Is DP cable is the only one this card can be used with? How about using an external thudnerbolt PCIe chassis? thanks

Thanks this post helped troubleshoot the first issue.

I have another one. I'm trying to connect two monitors via USB-C.

However, only one monitor works at a time regardless of the USB-C port that I'm using.

Is this a malfunction or a limitation?
