Which processor is better for a Precision T3600

Hi. I currently have Xeon E5-1650 installed on my T3600. And I am thinking to upgrade its processor. I have found that E5-4650L is compatible with my workstation. However, although it is newer, its frequency is lower than the E5-1650's. Can someone explain me which one is really faster? Thanks.
