Windows 10 Device Manager Unknown Device ROOT\NET\0001
Possibly the same as: https://www.dell.com/community/Precision-Fixed-Workstations/DELL-Precision-T3620-unknown-device-reported-in-device-manager/m-p/6071628#M388
On a Dell Precision T3620 running Windows 10 64-bit (v1803), I see two "Unknown device"s in Device Manager.
They have Device instance paths ROOT\NET\0001 and ROOT\NET\0002
How would I figure out what actual devices these are supposed to be, to identify which driver might be missing? Running the driver scan from the Dell support website does not find any missing drivers.

Obviously, you should have a proper system backup first, but then ...
you can try deleting them from Device Manager and see if they come back during next PnP Hardware Scan.

You can ignore those entries since they don't refer to any hardware. If you want to try this it might make the entries go away:
Right click on the entries and select Scan for hardware changes.

In fact removing the devices and re-scanning for them did result in them staying removed. Which suggests that Windows botched a device driver installation for some other device at some point, and left phantom devices in place. It's definitely not supposed to work that way. Ugh. Thanks, Microsoft....
And thanks to both of you who provided suggestions; out-of-the-box thinking is ever more necessary in today's "It's all Cloud, quality doesn't matter" world :(

I have read through this thread. I only found the step to right-click scan for hardware changes. This din't work for me. Is there any other solution?

Disconnect the device using the right mouse button. If there are no changes in the operation of the system. Feel free to remove this equipment. (also using the right mouse button).
